After our recent experiences in Hong Kong, I've got the travel bug and have been searching for other opportunities to travel, to observe/experience education abroad, and to build connections between my students and global partners.

In my searching, I came across two different opportunities through Fulbright that seem promising. I was already familiar with Fulbright's distinguished programs for college graduates (Teaching Assistantships, English Teaching Positions and Research Assistantships) and for teacher exchange. While these well-known programs provide amazing opportunities to travel, study and teach abroad, the assistantships are restricted to recent grads...and I'd been under the impression that the teacher exchange required a commitment for an extended stay abroad with housing exchange, which can be challenging for many educators (including this one that still rents her abode).  In fact, Fulbright also offers short-term global opportunities through the Fulbright Distinguished Awards in Teaching Short-Term Program and the Fulbright Teachers for Global Classrooms Program.
